Broadyarns Fit Guide – Long Sleeve Tee & Polo
Broadyarns exists for one simple reason: most long-sleeve shirts are not actually long enough. Sleeves stop short of the wrist, bodies ride up when you move, and you end up tugging and adjusting all day.
This guide explains how Broadyarns fits, how our sleeve length system works, and how to compare our measurements to a shirt you already own so you can pick the right size with confidence.
Our Fit Philosophy
Most brands scale patterns for “average” proportions. We do the opposite. Broadyarns begins with extended reach and builds every measurement from that foundation.
Our signature fit is designed to feel clean, modern, and structured without squeezing or billowing. The body length is slightly longer to stay at mid-hip on taller frames and to prevent riding up during movement. The result is a balanced fit that feels tailored without restricting your range.
Broadyarns is not a store for tall men. It is a place for men with longer arms and broader reach. If sleeves have been a lifelong frustration, you are in the right place.
Sleeve Length System
Every Broadyarns long-sleeve tee and polo comes in two engineered sleeve options:
-
BY Long Sleeve
For most men with longer arms who often experience frustration with sleeves that stop short of the wrist.
-
BY Extra-Long Sleeve
Ideal for men with extended reach or broader shoulders, or anyone who prefers a deeper, more classic wrist line under jackets and layers.
Sleeve lengths scale slightly by size. Refer to the measurement tables below for exact sleeve lengths by size.
How to Choose Your Sleeve Length
Most guys who struggle with short sleeves will be best in the BY Long Sleeve length. It’s two full inches longer than many popular brands’ long-sleeve shirts and solves the problem for the majority of men with longer arms.
The BY Extra-Long Sleeve length is intentionally long. It’s designed for men with exceptional reach - typically those 6'5" and up, or anyone who consistently finds even “tall” options too short.
Quick guidance:
- If regular brands are always short but you’re around 6'1"–6'4" → choose the BY Long
- If your arms are noticeably long even for your height, or you’re in the 6'5"+ range → choose BY Extra Long
- If you're unsure → start with 37". It will solve the problem for most long-armed men without excess fabric.
How Our Tops Fit
Long Sleeve T Shirt
The tee has a modern regular silhouette with a clean profile through the torso. The neckline holds shape over time and sits naturally at the collarbone. The sleeves move with you and the cuffs stay in place without squeezing. The body length is designed to sit at mid-hip and prevent riding up.
Long Sleeve Polo
The polo has a tailored, athletic structure that delivers shape without stiffness. The stand collar stays clean under layers and resists collapsing. The sleeves match the tee’s long reach engineering and maintain a polished look under jackets and sweaters. The body length is the same mid-hip profile for consistent balance across garments.
How We Measure Garments
Every garment is measured flat, then doubled where appropriate. This method gives you accurate reference points for comparing to shirts you already own.
Broadyarns provides measurements for:
- Chest width
- Shoulder width
- Body length (from top shoulder point to hem)
- Sleeve length (from center back to cuff)
These are garment measurements, not body measurements.

How to use these charts with a shirt you already like
- Take a long-sleeve shirt that fits you well in the chest and shoulders.
- Button it up and lay it flat on a table.
- Measure the following:
- Chest width: straight across, about 1" below the armhole.
- Shoulder width: from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back.
- Sleeve length: from the center-back neck seam to the end of the cuff.
- Body length: from the top of the shoulder at the neck to the hem.
Match those numbers to the chart above to find the closest Broadyarns size, then choose BY Long Sleeve or BY Extra-Long Sleeve based on how much wrist coverage you want.
